Bro Coffee Roastery – Whole Bean Coffee Costa Rica San Rafael Speciality 400g
- Washed Tarrazú arabica with 84 SCA points, roasted medium light. Cherry, plum, almonds and chocolate meet gentle acidity and a velvety, creamy body – a speciality coffee that tastes like dessert.
Bro Coffee Roastery Costa Rica San Rafael Speciality – a fruit dessert from Tarrazú
Tarrazú is a mountainous region of Costa Rica and one of the best-known names on the coffee map of Central America. It is home to the farms around San Marcos and San Pablo (1200-2000 masl) that supply Bro Coffee Roastery Costa Rica San Rafael Speciality. The coffee consists of the Catuai and Caturra varieties, which have long been the backbone of Costa Rican coffee farming.
The beans were washed: the fruit pulp is removed before they go to dry, which keeps the profile clean and every note sharply defined. In our roastery, we take them to a medium light (3/5) roast – cherry and plum stay juicy, while chocolate and almonds give the cup dessert-like depth. Thanks to its low, delicate acidity and creamy, heavy body, this is an exceptionally gentle coffee for a speciality grade.
Pulled as espresso, Costa Rica San Rafael is a real surprise – the shot tastes like a chocolate with a cherry filling. Brewed in a dripper or Chemex, it becomes lighter and juicier, while a French Press or AeroPress brings out fullness and a velvety texture.
Quality confirmed by the SCA score
What is the SCA score? The Specialty Coffee Association is a global authority in the coffee world, setting uncompromising standards. Qualified experts evaluate the beans on a strict 100-point scale during professional tasting sessions. The finest nuances of the brew are analysed: from aroma, through acidity, all the way to sweetness and balance. Exceeding the 80-point threshold is the ultimate proof that the beans are completely free from defects and belong to the absolute global top tier.
At Bro Coffee Roastery, we do not compromise. Every bean that goes into our roaster undergoes rigorous selection. The Costa Rica San Rafael Speciality coffee has achieved an excellent score of 84 points on the SCA scale, which proudly classifies it within the elite group of speciality quality. For you, this means a guarantee of objectively measured perfection, a flawlessly clean taste and a unique sensory profile that meets strict, artisanal standards.

Craft roasting at BroRoastery.com
We roast our coffee to a medium-light level (3 on a 5-point scale) to highlight natural sweetness and creamy body without losing balance and pleasant nuances. This roast works equally well for espresso and alternative brewing methods.
All our coffees are roasted fresh, in small batches, to reach you in optimal condition. The best flavour qualities develop after a minimum of 7 days from the roast date – following a natural degassing process that stabilises the profile and allows the aroma and balance to fully shine.
The high quality of our beans and the artisanal approach to the roasting process is no coincidence. The commitment to maintaining the highest global standards is confirmed by the fact that our brand's producer is a proud member of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). By choosing Bro Coffee Roastery, you are opting for a product created by true experts and passionate enthusiasts.
For us, Costa Rica San Rafael is a dessert coffee in the best sense of the word: chocolate-covered cherries, an almond finish and not a trace of unnecessary acidity. Perfect for the afternoon, when you're craving something sweet.
